Sections & Elevations

Sections and Elevations are essential components of measured building and site surveys, providing accurate visualisations of buildings and landscapes. While elevations show the external faces of a structure, sections offer vertical “slices” through a building or site, revealing internal levels and structural relationships.

At Lansdowne Surveys Ltd, we produce precise Sections and Elevations using advanced surveying technology, including total stations and the Leica RTC360. This ensures our drawings are accurate, reliable, and suitable for planning, design, or construction purposes.

Elevations

Elevation drawings capture:

  • Building facades and external finishes

  • Window, door, and roof positions

  • Ground-to-roof levels

  • Architectural features and detailing

They are invaluable for planning applications, façade refurbishments, and external works.

Sections

Section drawings provide insight into the interior of a building or site by showing:

  • Floor-to-ceiling heights

  • Structural elements (beams, columns, walls)

  • Roof construction

  • Internal level changes and foundation details

Sections are critical for extensions, internal alterations, and understanding spatial relationships within a structure.
