The Crescent Centre, located at Temple Back in Bristol, underwent a significant redevelopment led by Kier Construction. This £28 million project, initiated in October 2022 and completed in June 2024, transformed the existing office space into a modern, sustainable workspace known as Crescent.

Key features of the redevelopment include:

  • Structural Enhancements: The project involved retaining and upgrading the building's existing structure, resulting in a 45% reduction in upfront embodied carbon compared to new construction.

  • Expanded Workspace: The redevelopment increased the lettable office space to 101,000 sq ft, offering flexible floor plates ranging from 1,600 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft.

  • Modern Amenities: Crescent now features a range of amenities, including a café with an external decked area, a gym and fitness studio, secure cycle parking for 164 cycles with repair facilities, and three private roof terraces offering views over Temple Gardens.

  • Sustainability Initiatives: The building has achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings and operates as a Net Zero Carbon facility, incorporating energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.

Designed by Buckley Gray Yeoman, Crescent exemplifies a commitment to sustainability and modern workspace design, providing a healthier and more flexible environment for its occupants.

Our involvement on this project included:

  • Setting out the steel frame at roof level and ensuring the frame was plumb, lined and levelled within tolerance.

  • Setting out of gridlines and datums throughout the project.

  • Setting out slab penetrations for M&E.

  • Setting out the atrium steel.

  • Various surveys for quality assurance.
